Harry’s life has been like it has in the books but come his fifth year at Hogwarts things changed. The battle at the Department of Mysteries went differently with a different outcome. Everyone ends up hearing The Prophecy, including Voldemort. Now the Dark Lord knows exactly what it says and has developed plans to use it to his advantage to ensure his victory in taking over the world.
During the battle at the Ministry itself, Peter Pettigrew had participated with the sole job of bringing the Prophecy back to the Dark Lord as soon as the other Death Eaters had got it from Harry Potter. The situation soon got out of hand with the Order coming along to help those members of Dumbledore's Army that had been tricked into going to the Ministry. While Sirius and Bellatrix fight with all of the craziness going on around them, a wild spell hits Remus Lupin back, who happens to fly back and knock Sirius over just before Bellatrix hits him with the spell that would have knocked him into the mystical curtain in the Department of Mysteries. Both men survive the battle, along with everyone else, though many were severely injured.
The Death Eaters soon flea and accidentally leave Peter Pettigrew behind who gets easily captured by his old and former friends. The Prophecy itself was snatched up from Pettigrew by Lucius Malfoy who returns it to Lord Voldemort who never made an appearance that night. The Ministry of Magic never saw him and so the word is still out that Dumbledore and Harry are spreading lies about him. Though Sirius was exonerated after Peter ultimately confessed about what happened years ago. Unfortunately, just before Peter was taken to be officially questioned about his appearance at the Ministry and the reasoning behind that, he was secretly rescued by an agent in the Ministry and released to return to Voldemort.
In short, the Prophecy about Voldemort and Harry is in Voldemort's hands now to use to his advantage. Sirius is free to live his life, but Peter Pettigrew is still at large. The Minister of Magic is still vehemently in denial about Voldemort's return simply out of his own personal fears and there might be a traitor in the Ministry of Magic, close to the Minister's side.
We are in the middle of Autumn 1996 with all of the students already safely back at Hogwarts under Dumbledore's supervision. The Death Eaters are on the move, still in secret with a big plot on the horizon. Will you either hurt or help Harry and Dumebledore? Do you want to see a new world order or fight with the Order to protect what is already known, loved, and accepted by all? Only time will tell as to what exactly happens at Scholam Magicam.
